Disc golf is a part of the Camp Taloali camping program and is also used by the community as a way to raise money to maintain the course and to support Camp Taloali's mission of providing camping and outdoor recreational programs for Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard-of-Hearing youth, and with other community groups.

From the expertise of Nathan Boyes and Todd Hicks, veteran Deaf disc golfers, our disc golf course was carved out of the forests of Camp Taloali in 2008-2009, using existing trails on the 111-acre private camp property. Nathan brought the concept of the disc golf course to the Board of Directors in 2007 as a proposal designed to raise funds for summer camp for deaf and hard of hearing children by providing a sports venue that would attract players who enjoy recreating in the outdoors, as well as adding to outdoor camp activities offered to deaf/hard of hearing children and youth. The 35 acres, 18-hole course opened on October 10th 2009.
